We accept Visa/MC. All orders must be paid in full prior to shipping. Nuc purchases must be pre-paid or paid upon pick-up with credit card or cash. No checks taken on day of pick-up.

Bjorn Apiaries selects breeder stock from hives of over wintered bees in Pennsylvania that have not been chemically treated. In addition, breeder stock is introduced every year from other breeders so a high level of genetic diversity is achieved. Many of our breeders are selected in the spring based on a high standard of applied criteria. We sell proven lines that have been brought together from many sources, and selected over time. Bjorn Apiaries offers over-wintered queens and nucs as well as first generation and spring raised queens, from selected stock of northern origins.

Bjorn Apiaries does not strive to maintain pure lines or purchase our breeders from one individual, so some "label" can be applied for marketing purposes. We believe that genetic diversity, combined with proper selection, management, and breeding guidelines, produce the best queens.

Whether using a base genetic stock of feral bees, survivor stock, or pure Russian breeders, we believe a quality breeder is defined by what one does within their breeding program. This should not be on the basis of marketing a type of bee, a name, or using a breeder from some particular place.

We are not a full service bee supply house. But we use many products for our own business and buy many of these at bulk rates. We normally have bulk pollen substitute, pollen patties, swarm lures, fondant, Pierco foundation, as well as a host of other bee supplies readily available. If you need something, give us a call.
